Hylton welcomes Italian students from Verona, Italy!
20 Italian students from the Einaudi School in Verona, Italy, arrive in Woodbridge on September 6. They will be staying with Hylton families and following a full program of excursions and activities. They leave on September 16. We still have a few Italian students who need host homes for this 10 day visit. If you are interested in hosting, please contact our CISL Coordinator, Mrs. Meg Holt (holtmh@pwcs.edu). Click here for the application forms and proposed calendar for this visit.
Freshmen and New Student/Parent Orientation
Hylton's rising Freshmen and all students new to Hylton are encouraged to join us at Hylton High School on Thursday, August 28, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m., for New Student/Parent Orientation.  Important information and tours of the school will be provided.  Check back for more information.  See you there!
Orientation for New CISL Students & Parents
CISL students and parents are invited to a special CISL orientation on Thursday, August 28, immediately following the new student orientation. The event will include a light lunch and introductory presentation in Hylton’s gym, followed by student and parent break-out sessions in other locations. The orientation will end by 2 p.m. 

The CISL Boosters group is providing a complimentary lunch to all new CISL students. For parent and guardians, there will be a $5 (cash only) charge per person. So that we order enough food, please contact the CISL Coordinator, Mrs. Holt (holtmh@pwcs.edu), with the number in your group.
First Day of School
We hope everyone is enjoying their summer break! The 2014-2015 school year will begin Tuesday, September 2. We look forward to seeing all our returning Bulldogs and meeting all our new ones!  Click here to read a welcome message from our Principal, Mr. Cassady.

Back to School Night
Please plan to attend the C. D. Hylton Senior High School Back to School Night on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. This is an opportunity for parents to meet teachers, so we prefer that the students not attend.  Click here to read a letter from Mr. Cassady that details the evening.

Math Parent Meeting: A special meeting for parents who have students enrolled in the following math courses: Pre-AP Algebra II/Trigonometry; Functions Trigonometry: and Functions Analytic Geometry will take place at 6:00 PM in the Enclosed Cafeteria.

Student Schedules: Please bring a copy of your child's schedule with you. The most updated schedule can be found in Parent Portal. You may also ask your child to provide you with a copy of his/her schedule (click here for a blank schedule).

Parent Portal: From 5:00 - 8:00 PM, parents/guardians are invited to visit room E165B to have their Parent Portal accounts activated and/or to register for a new account. Please be prepared to show a picture ID.
Teacher Chosen for Leadership Academy
Congratulations to C.D. Hylton's Jessie Ayers who was selected to participate in the Virginia Center for Excellence in Teaching (VCET), a new, highly selective professional development program for teachers.  Ms. Ayers attended the Fine Arts Academy, which ran July 6 - 11 at GMU. Ayers is one of Virginias 100 best teachers selected to attend one of four innovative summer academies focused on classroom instruction, education policy and leadership. Click here to read more.

Code of Behavior
Please take some time before the start of the 2014-2015 school year to review the PWCS Code of Behavior. Links to the Code of Behavior are also available at left under For Students & Parents/Code of Behavior.
Express Bus Stops
Are you a CISL transfer student? Click here for the express bus stops for 2014-15. This list is also available on the PWCS Transportation web page. Schedules are being updated and uploaded daily - check back soon!
Parent Portal Registrations
Parents/Guardians: If you had a Parent Portal account last year, your account is still active and you can log in using the same username/password. For parents/guardians new to PWCS, or for those who did not have an account last year but who want one now, registration is now open. Click Parent Portal > Login > Request Accout to register. After registering, your login information will be sent via e-mail and can be activated at C.D. Hylton High School any business day, 8:00 am-3:00 pm. Please be prepared to show a picture ID. If you have any questions about the Parent Portal, please check the Parent Portal FAQs.
Student Parking Passes
Student parking passes for the 2014-2015 school year can be purchased between September 4th and September 15th, 2014.  Parking passes are $100.00 (cash, check, money order) and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Please pick-up a parking application in the main office beginning September 3rd or click here to download a copy. All student drivers must have a parking permit to park on school property. No Exceptions.
