First Day of School
We hope everyone is enjoying their summer break! The 2015-2016 school year will begin before labor day on Monday, August 31st. We look forward to seeing all our returning Bulldogs and meeting all our new ones!  Click here to read a welcome message from our Principal, Mr. Cassady.

Note: Students will receive notification of their 1st period class by mail. On the first day of school, students will report to 1st period where they will receive a copy of their official schedule. 
Book Fair
The library is having a book fair! All proceeds will be used to purchase new books for the library. We will have books, games, and fun items. The book fair will be open before and after school and during lunch from Aug. 31st - Sept. 10th. It will also be open from 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. on Back-to-School Night. This is a great time to purchase required reading, gift items, and to catch up on the latest young adult series. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. Freshmen and New Student/Parent Orientation
Rising Freshmen and all students new to Hylton are encouraged to join us on Thursday, August 27th from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. for New Student/Parent Orientation. Click here to learn more about the day, including an agenda for students and an agenda for parents.
Orientation for New CISL Students & Parents
CISL students and parents are invited to a special CISL orientation on Thursday, August 27th from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. The event will include a light lunch and introductory presentation in Hylton's gym, followed by student and parent break-out sessions in other locations. 

The CISL Boosters group is providing a complimentary lunch to all new CISL students. For parents and guardians, there will be a $5 (cash only) charge per person. So that we order enough food, please contact the CISL Coordinator, Mrs. Holt (holtmh@pwcs.edu), with the number in your group.

Sign up for ASVAB Testing
Attention Juniors and Seniors: ASVAB Testing will be held on Thursday, September 24th at 11:00 AM. If you are interested in taking the test, you may sign up from now through Sunday, September 20th by clicking here. For more information, see Ms. Hammel in the 4th Street Office.
Back to School Night
Please plan to attend the C. D. Hylton Senior High School Back to School Night on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. This is an opportunity for parents to meet teachers, so we prefer that the students not attend. 

Math Parent Meeting: A special meeting for parents who have students enrolled in the following math courses: Pre-AP Algebra II/Trigonometry; Functions Trigonometry: and Functions Analytic Geometry will take place at 6:00 PM in the Enclosed Cafeteria.

Student Schedules: Please bring a copy of your child's schedule with you. The most updated schedule can be found in Parent Portal. You may also ask your child to provide you with a copy of his/her schedule (click here for a blank schedule).

Parent Portal: From 6:00 - 8:00 PM, parents/guardians are invited to visit room E165B to have their Parent Portal accounts activated and/or to register for a new account. Please be prepared to show a picture ID.
Naviance Access for Students
Students can now access Family Connection/Naviance for the 2015-1616 school year.  Click here to view a letter detailing the services provided through this site. Students can login using the following credentials: username = student ID number; password = date of birth (MMDDYYYY) *The password format has recently changed.  Additional information about Family Connection/Naviance can be found on Hylton's College and Career Planning page

Senior Parent Breakfast
Please join us for the Senior Parent Breakfast on Saturday, September 19th from 8:30 am -10:00 am in the Commons.  Parents will receive information about senior pictures, the college application process, scholarships, military and technical programs, senior pictures, and important senior events (to include graduation). Hylton Grad Fair
Attention Senior Students and Parents: Please join us on Saturday, October 17th from 9:00 - 2:00 p.m. in the Commons for the Hylton Grad Fair. Parents and seniors will be able to place and purchase their graduation order from Herff Jones.  Seniors may also order a class ring, yearbook, and senior class t-shirt at the event.
2015-16 College Fairs
All seniors and juniors and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend one of the college fairs scheduled this fall to explore post-graduation options. Representatives from various colleges, universities, technical schools, and the military will attend. The Western PWC College Fair will be held at Osbourn High School, located at 9005 Tudor Lane in Manassas, on Sept. 28 from 6-8 p.m. The Eastern PWC College Fair will be held on Oct. 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Hylton High School. Save time and pre-register for the event at http://gotocollegefairs.com/.
Concussion Training

High school parents and students who are entering 9th grade and trying out for a sport for their first time in high school or are new to Prince William County Public schools must attend a face to face concussion training at their respective school. Click here to view the HS training dates. If you are unable to attend a scheduled Face-to-Face Concussion Training, the parent and student have the option to complete an online presentation for the first time participant as a high school student. This option will not be available until mid-July, 2015.

Parents and students who have already attended a face-to-face training may take this year’s mandatory concussion training online. Online training will be available after June 20, 2015.
