Some Internet-based PWCS services will be disrupted today (October 24),
between approximately 5-6 p.m.
Parent Portal, Power Teacher, staff VPN and MyPortal remote access, will all be briefly unavailable. Email access from within the network, as well as in or outbound internet traffic will also be affected. Please plan you work accordingly.

ASVAB Interpretation Presentation
An ASVAB Interpretation Presentation will be held on Monday, October 27 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Score Sheets will be available for students who took the test in September.
Night of Stars Auditions
Hylton's Literary Magazine and Journalism Club are proud to announce "Night of Stars" auditions.  Auditions will be held on October 21st, 23rd, and 28th from 2:20 - 4:00 PM in Room E134.  Stop by Room E154 for a copy of the audition forms.  *"Night of Stars" is formerly known as "Coffee Night."  Click here for a flyer to print.
Order Your Cap and Gown!
Herff Jones will be in the Commons during all lunch shifts on Wednesday, October 29th. During this time, seniors will be able to order caps and gowns as well as other senior items. 
Driver's Education Student/Parent Meeting
There will be a Driver's Education Student/Parent Meeting on Wednesday, October 29th at 7pm at Hylton High School.  Both parent and student need to be present to receive credit.  Please arrive early; doors close at 7pm. If you are not able to attend this meeting, there will be two more meetings hosted at Hylton as well as several meetings hosted throughout the county.  You only need to attend one meeting. Click here to see all meeting dates/locations.

 

Office 365 / Microsoft Office for Students
In addition to C.D. Hylton Google Apps accounts, PWCS is providing students with Microsoft Office 365 accounts. With this account comes licenses for the student to install MS Office 2013 software on up to 5 devices of his/her choice. This video will walk students through the process of signing in for the first time and downloading the software.  Students must sign in to their accounts for the first time from a school computer.  Mrs. Treichler & the Tech Team will be providing login assistance on Oct. 28th - Nov. 7th before/after school in E165B & during lunches in the Library.
Google Apps for Education FAQs
C.D. Hylton faculty and students are encouraged to use Google Apps for Education as their cloud-based computing solution. Click here for more information regarding this service, including security of student data and how accounts are monitored.
Senior Quotes
Attention Seniors: If you would like to submit a senior quote for the Yearbook, click here.  Quotes can be submitted between October 15th and November 15th.  Only one submission per student, and all submissions are subject to Administrative approval.

NHS Tutoring Begins Oct. 14th
Attention Students: NHS Tutoring begins on October 14th and will be held from 2:15 - 3:15 PM in the library. If you need help with Math or Science, come on Mondays/Thursdays. If you need help with English or Social Studies, come on Tuesdays. Click here for a flyer to print.
Student Google Accounts are Ready!
Important Reminder: If you actively used your PWCS Google Apps account last year, be sure to save any work as those accounts will be disabled any day now. Click here for directions on downloading files. You are encouraged to begin using your C.D. Hylton Google Apps account.  Click here to view a video that will show you how to login. You can login for the first time from school or from home.
High School Program Information Nights
Mark your calendars!  On Thursday, November 13th and Tuesday, January 13th, Hylton High School is hosting it's information night(s) for all students, parents and guardians interested in the different high school programs we will offer in 2015-16. These include the Center for International Studies and Languages, the TV Production program and the Auto Tech program. The event will begin at 7 p.m. Specific locations for the different programs will be listed as you enter the building. The county-wide on-line application process will be explained at both events.
